Alison Johnson

Sustainability and Climate Change Advisor

Alison has over 20 years’ experience working in climate change and sustainability reporting across all levels of government in Australia. With a strong skillset in Environmental, Social, Governance reporting developed from working for the Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority (EECA), New Zealand Government, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), the Climate Commission (changed name 2013) and the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (changed name 2013), Australian Government. Alison has a passion for working will all types of organisations, developing strategies, policies, reports, operating procedures, action plans and developing evidence based climate change and sustainability projects/programs.


With a passion for community consultation and inclusivity, Alison has worked across four southern Tasmanian councils as a sustainability community outreach mentor, and has experience creating fun STEM projects with local schools Kinder to year 12.

Alison is proficient at greenhouse accounting, having completed a Masters of Science in Renewable Energy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Studies. For example, creating an open-source community emissions footprint tool in partnership with the 12 Southern Tasmanian councils, City of Hobart, and Launceston Council.

Outside work Alison enjoys gardening, riding, being creative, and learning all that the world, and Tasmania, have to offer.
