Dr Josie Kelman

Managing Director / Principal Environmental Advisor / Agri Ecologist

Dr Kelman has more than 25 years’ expertise across flora and fauna specialising in botany and vegetation management, and a decade as Managing Director of Enviro-dynamics.

Renowned for her strategic solutions-focused leadership, and a skilled facilitator and communicator, Josie is well regarded for community engagement and stakeholder consultation.

Her technical strengths include GIS and ecological modelling, biostatistics, and financial oversight. These skills, supported by extensive experience in project management, business planning, and team development across environmental and agricultural sectors, have proven Josie to be a dynamic, trusted leader in environmental consulting.

Her ecology focus includes Tasmanian vegetation communities, particularly south-eastern ecosystems and Buttongrass moorlands. Josie’s work has contributed significantly to conserving threatened species such as the Wedge-tailed eagle and Tasmanian devil. She holds a PhD in environmental management, monitoring and evaluation, and has led complex projects under tight regulatory and budgetary conditions.

Josie is also a botanist and vegetation-management specialist who’s delivered programs across Queensland and Tasmania, working closely with farming communities, especially in pastoral systems. She is a lover of contrasts: the hush of remote country, spirited debate around a meeting table; a quick blast on the motorcycle, and, yes, frocking up for a night at the theatre.
