Dr Nick Fitzgerald

Principal Environmental Advisor / Ecologist

Dr Fitzgerald has a keen interest and more than 15 years’ experience in the remote world heritage areas of Tasmania, including sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island. With a PhD from the University of Tasmania, his expertise as a field botanist and vegetation specialist, means his knowledge covers a wide range of ecosystems and environmental issues.

Nick has extensive experience in field surveys, ecological research, environmental monitoring, vegetation mapping, weed management, science communication, NRM, conservation planning and ecological restoration. His practice is complimented by specialised knowledge and skills in GIS and spatial analysis.

When not looking at plants, Nick can be found bushwalking, mountain biking, packrafting or otherwise exploring all corners of Tasmania (perhaps looking at plants along the way!). He naturally has a penchant for landscape and nature photography.

Nick works for Enviro-dynamics on a casual basis.
