Fiona Walsh
Senior Environmental Advisor / Plant Ecologist
Fiona is a passionate botanist and environmental consultant with a B.Sc. (Honors) in Botany. Her thesis focused on seed germination in the genus Epacris (Ericaceae). Skilled in data management, GIS mapping, and report writing, Fiona has practical knowledge in vegetation management and environmental legislation. Application of these tools supports effective ecological assessments and conservation planning for development and conservation projects. She has managed small projects and leads volunteer teams, with experience in community engagement and stakeholder communication, including contributions to the Tasmanian Field Naturalists Club (TFNC) and Tasmania's Seed Conservation Centre (TSCC).
Fiona is all in when it comes to plants. Whether photographing plants, volunteering at TSCC, adding to her herbarium, or spending time with family, riding bikes, or knitting, she always has time and extra brain space just for plants.
