Melanie Fazackerley
Principal NRM Advisor
Mel is an experienced NRM consultant with more than 20 years’ experience in natural resource management, community engagement, and project delivery, including 15 years of project leadership.
She has led coastal management, vegetation restoration, feral pest control, and disaster-recovery programs; bringing a practical, systems-based approach to on-ground implementation. With experience across Tasmania and Queensland, Mel works with farmers, councils and community groups to co-design sustainable land-management solutions tailored to local conditions, pressures, and opportunities.
A skilled facilitator and communicator, Mel develops public-facing materials and leads engagement processes, using digital tools such as Bang the Table and Social Pinpoint. Her governance and business experience—serving on a not-for-profit board and running her own consultancy—underpins strengths in strategic planning, organisational and financial management, and grant writing. Comfortable in multi-partner settings, Mel keeps projects on time, on budget, and outcome-focused.
When she’s not talking NRM, you might find her behind a mixing desk at the Moonah Arts Centre or a music festival.
