Social Media & Science Communicator

Dr Olly Dove is a zoologist and science communicator, enthusiastic and passionate about helping the public engage with nature, the environment, and ecology.

With 10 years’ experience in both science communication volunteering and professional work, she has cultivated her skills in delivering accessible science to all sorts of audiences, ranging from children to retirees. Past science communication projects have included translating academic papers into digestible articles, hosting and producing radio and podcast shows, presenting talks and drama plays, and delivering training and workshops on science communication techniques. 

Alongside science communication, Olly has completed a BSc (Hons) in Zoology, an MSc in Taxonomy and Biodiversity, and a PhD in Marine Ecology. Her PhD focused on the diving behaviour of short-tailed shearwaters and little penguins, with her favourite aspect of the PhD being getting to spend up to five weeks at a time with the incredible seabirds. 

Outside of work, Olly loves spending her time playing Australian rules football and writing novels.
