Senior Environmental Advisor

Dr Shannon Troy is an ecologist with 20 years of experience in fauna conservation and management. She has a PhD in spatial ecology and has worked on a wide range of projects and species in Tasmanian and eastern Australian landscapes.

Shannon has technical expertise in fauna survey planning and implementation, GIS, statistical analysis, and ecological monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. She is also an experienced project manager with strengths in project development, business and strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. She brings a collaborative, solutions focused approach to her work, and enjoys connecting science, policy, planning, and on-ground delivery to deliver measurable environmental outcomes.

Shannon is particularly interested in natural capital, nature repair, environmental markets, and the role of finance and governance in incentivising environmental stewardship and supporting resilient landscapes and last benefits for nature and people.

Outside of work, you will find Shannon sailing, hiking, entertaining her kelpie, birdwatching, baking, at the gym, or in her garden.
