Stuart Rose

Environmental Advisor / Ecologist

Stuart is a botanist and conservation professional specialising in plant ecology, vegetation management, and invasive weed control. He has worked across Tasmania’s diverse ecosystems; leading field surveys, coordinating revegetation and restoration, and supporting landholders with practical, evidence-based advice.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biological Sciences from the University of Tasmania and a Graduate Certificate in Regenerative Agriculture. Skilled in plant identification and QGIS, Stuart is building deeper capability in GIS, science communication, and public speaking, alongside growing experience with vegetation legislation and compliance.

His on-ground expertise includes tackling some of Tasmania’s most challenging invasive species: orange hawkweed, Chilean needle grass, and serrated tussock.  Stuart has experience managing small to medium projects, coordinating field teams and volunteers, and stakeholder engagement.

Bridging science and community, Stuart is passionate about delivering clear, accessible outcomes that improve biodiversity and landscape resilience while supporting productive land use.
