Dr Magali Wright
Senior Environmental Consultant
Magali is an experienced ecologist specialising in botany, plant–fungal interactions and threatened-flora conservation. With 25 years’ expertise between Victoria and Tasmania, Her work includes extensive research and field-based conservation efforts with native orchids and eucalypts, underpinned by a strong foundation in ecological impact assessment and flora and fauna management. With a PhD in Resource Management, her scientific practice is complemented by strong project management and team leadership, developed through extensive experience involving complex partnerships, long-term planning and coordinating multidisciplinary teams on large-scale initiatives. She is deeply committed to community and stakeholder engagement and has led volunteer-driven programs.
At Enviro-dynamics, Magali leads projects that turn science into practical action, including canine detection program development for threatened flora and biosecurity, and propagation capacity for threatened orchids, extending long-running mycorrhizal propagation work at both the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne and Hobart.
Her strengths extend to strategic planning, GIS, grant writing and science communication, with a focus on accessible materials for NRM, biosecurity and public awareness. As Chair of the Tasmanian Threatened Species Scientific Advisory Committee, she contributes to policy and advisory work.
I am passionate about communicating technical information in an accessible, practical way to inform land management and conservation decision-making. I enjoy growing native plants and seeing the change achieved through successful community conservation projects.
