Agricultural Extension Officer

Peter is a seasoned agricultural extension officer with 30 years’ experience in pasture, livestock and grazing systems R&D. He combines comprehensive knowledge of Tasmanian pasture species and sustainable land use with practical, on-farm advice, helping producers build systems that are productive and adaptive, capable of responding to environmental change.

He has led pasture trials, surveys and demonstration sites, and delivers grazing courses, field days and forums. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, facilitation and clear communication, he develops articles, factsheets and learning resources. His experience in both project and financial management ensures a practical, results-driven approach, and his ability to translate science into meaningful support makes him a trusted and respected advisor in the field.

Pastures and livestock benefit from management. People do that. I enjoy working with people to share learning and achieve more. I also believe you can never have enough pictures of grass, and I’m captivated by the complexity of the natural world.
